Healthcare
We must expand access to healthcare through the Affordable Health Care Act, especially for underserved or at-risk groups. Such provisions will decrease health care costs for chronic disease in the future, lower insurance premiums, and ultimately lower the burden of Medicare on the national budget.
? I firmly believe that access to healthcare is a right and a service due to all Americans.
? In Congress, I will not vote to cut Medicaid or Medicare. The services offered to Americans are necessary and must not be underserved.
? I am passionately committed to defending women’s health and reproductive rights.
? I recognize that women’s health is more than a political issue. Access to quality women’s healthcare is a necessity, a right and a national health priority.
? The government should provide more reproductive and women’s health services, not fewer. I will fight to repeal the Hyde Amendment, which prevents many women from receiving the medical care they need.
